Behind the scenes as the MYER show...

Violet from Violetlebeaux provided this behind the scenes write up of the Myer show in Australia…

Earlier this week I was fortunate enough to be invited backstage to the Myer S/S 10/11 fashion show rehearsals to get a glimpse of Illamasqua's stunning make-up designs for the night.

Head make-up artist Nicola Burford and the Illamasqua team executed the looks with absolute precision as 1950's style and old Hollywood glamour ruled the catwalk.

It was a tribute to everyone's professionalism how surprisingly calm behind the scenes was as the team gave the models the royal treatment. Even at the most hectic points during dress rehearsal the team were completely efficient and created meticulous looks.

Bold lips, winged eyes and lovely lashes were applied to compliment the tall beehive hair styles the L'Oreal team were creating for the girls.

Each look was complimented with perfectly manicured nails using Illamasqua's Bacterium, from the new Toxic Nature collection.

While I didn't get to see the avant garde looks being created during the day I hear they were also spectacular and some involved diamantes being applied to the girl's faces.

Nicola and the whole team did an amazing job and it was a wonderful treat to be able to see them work so closely.

For more information on what to look forward to when the collection goes live for sale EXCLUSIVELY at illamasqua.com tomorrow, take a look at our step-by-step look at what makes Toxic Nature the must have this Spring ...

An unashamedly romantic toxic tenderness, a corrupted cuteness, an incandescent innocence. The idea behind the collection was a hybrid race born out of an apocalypse, with the girls part of a generation of a mutated race with exaggerated proportions and exaggerated features." - Alex Box, Creative Director

CREAM PIGMENTS

A brand new formulation that breaks new ground in versatility - use as blush, eye colour, highlights, contours, on lips or even the hair ...

We have supplied you with an artist's palette so that you can experiment with colour - try mixing and matching these colours for maximum impact ...

Hollow - This toffee shade is perfect as a contour on paler skintones. it also works brilliantly as an eye shadow base on olive and darker skintones.

Delirium - This rose taupe shade is fantastic for contouring pale to olive skintones as well as adding a healthy flush to all skintones as a blusher or as a soft rose lip.

Mould - Because every Spring collection needs a touch of darkness, this grape shade is stunning as a base for smoky eyes or an intense, statement lip.

Emerge - This peach brightens under eye shadows, and is beautiful as a highlighter on oliver to darker skintones. It's also a very flattering blusher on paler skin tones.

Bedaub - This mint green is a wonderful eye base and flattering for all skintones. You can also mix with Satin Primer to tone down the impact and this works beautifully as a skin colour corrector to neutralise redness.

Dab - This gentle lilac is beautiful for eyes, lips and cheeks especially for a 60s look.
