Last week Illamasqua had the pleasure of collaborating with the final year students of the London College of Fashion and Myhairdressers.com. Showcasing the talent of the Make-up and prosthetics, Technical Effects and Costume design students, the night was full of incredible artistry and design from the moment we entered the venue (Cochrane theatre) and were welcomed by a ceiling of flapping crows!
The imagination and talent that had been put in to the show oozed from every scene with dramatic, eery creatures wandering between the different worlds and leading the Unraveller through the magical and mystical back to his land.
"In the story of Traveller and Unraveller, the crow is a creature trapped between worlds. As the central figure, Tobias, ‘the Unraveller’ has found himself in a forest between day and night in the realm of the crows. His journey back to the Earth, much like Coleridge’s Ancient Mariner, is both literal and symbolic.
He must be redeemed through humility and a renewed sense of love for the natural world. The catalyst for his journey in his love for the mysterious Traveller who acts both as a spiritual and moral guide back into the land of mankind."
Illamasqua’s Head of Professional, Spob, did a fantastic job of supporting the team in bringing these magnificent and beautiful creatures to life and to illustrate these characters we have a short film of the show behind the scenes…
Congratulations to everyone involved!
